  • Creating Contact Across Borders: Kara Dehyle, GIIP fellow, recently returned from a six month internship in Chiapas, Mexico where she worked with a grassroots, weaving cooperative run by indigenous weavers.
  • GIIP Interns Travel the Globe: This summer, GIIPʼs info-activists have em- barked on internships around the globe. GIIP members worked in Honduras, Guatemala, Washington D.C., Chiapas, Nairobi, Santa Cruz, CA and this fall GIIP will send another intern to Mali.

  • Development work in Mali: This fall, GIIP intern Erich Huffaker will be traveling to Bamako, Mali to spend a year working with the organization AMRAD. AMRAD, or the Association Malienne de Recherche - Action pour le Développement, is a non-govern-mental organization (NGO) established in 1984.
