In partnership with Progressive Technology Project, GIIP has designed a special training program for new and old community organizers who are interested in building their technology skills. The TechCamp brought community organizers from non-profit organizations all over the country to Santa Cruz, in order to improve their understanding and use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) within their organizations.

TechCamp workshops are designed to build the basic skills of  participants  in the key technology competencies for community organizing.  Focusing on computer literacy and skills such as word processing, graphics, database, and web design,  the TechCamp empowers organizers to use technology to most effectively further their goals.

Thank to the efforts of GIIP students Hanami Sutton, Suzi Grishpul, Christine Hill, Adam Thompson and  Shaeleya Miller the 2006 PTP TechCamp was such a success that an additional TechCamp in Saint Paul, Minnesota was added to the 2007 summer schedule.
