This

using IT in the service of society. The judges had a very difficult
time narrowing them down to the top six, all of which will receive a
cash prize.
The top six, in no particular order, are:
- Information technology platform to help motorized wheelchair users achieve universal access, led by Jesse Leaman from UC Berkeley
- Summer of Service Technology Institute, led by Christina Hamill from UC Santa Cruz
- Telemicroscopy for Disease Diagnosis, led by David N. Breslauer from UC Berkeley
- iCare: Direct Person-to-Person Charity for Natural Disaster Relief, led by Anand Kulkarni from UC Berkeley
- Interactive Lifecycle Assessment Tools for Consumer-level Goods and Services, led by Scott Zimmerman from UC Berkeley
- Coupling Output-based Aid and Mobile Technologies, led by Ben Bellows from UC Berkeley
The
awards ceremony will be held on Monday, May 7th, at 4:00 p.m. in 290
HMMB, UC Berkeley. Students from each of these groups will give a
5-minute overview of their proposal, followed by the presentation of
the final awards. This event is free, open to the public and broadcast
live on-line at mms://media.citris.berkeley.edu/webcast, and
refreshments will be served.
Please join us on Monday to honor these outstanding researchers in the CITRIS White Paper competition 2007.
