Progressive Technology Project TechCamp
In partnership with Progressive Technology Project, GIIP has designed a special training program for new and old community organizers who are interested in building their technology skills. Kara Dehyle served a six month long internship in Chiapas, Mexico. Here, Kara worked with a grassroots, weaving cooperative run entirely by indigenous female weavers.

In the summer of 2006, GIIP fellow, Shelley McCoy expanded on the work she had done with the Reproductive Rights Network of Santa Cruz County by completing an internship through International Health Programs (IHP) in Nigeria.

Reicken Foundation- Honduras
In the summer of 2006, Adam Melendrez served an internship in Lejamani, Honduras with one of GIIP’s sustaining partners, the Riecken Foundation. The Reicken Foundation is an NGO working in Honduras and Guatemala to “promote the discovery of ideas and resources in rural Central American Communities by supporting the construction and operation of public libraries”. In July of 2006 I made my second trip to Kenya. The purpose of this internship has been to complete a video project to be aired at a major event as publicity for ICRAF's research and to further develop a partnership between the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF http://www.worldagroforestry.org/) and GIIP.
