Progressive Technology Project TechCamp

TechCampes receive certificates of completionIn partnership with Progressive Technology Project, GIIP has designed a special training program for new and old community organizers who are interested in building their technology skills. The TechCamp brought community organizers from non-profit organizations all over the country to Santa Cruz, in order to improve their understanding and use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) within their organizations.

Center for Multicultural Cooperation- Fresno, California

The Center for Multicultural Cooperation is one of  GIIP’s strategic partners.  Building on the program she developed while a GIIP fellow, MaryJane Skellerup started her own non profit working with Hmong youth in Fresno.  Using digital video, she introduced teens to new technologies and to the resources to help launch them to pursue a college education.

Reicken Foundation- Honduras

ReickenIn the summer of 2006, Adam Melendrez served an internship in Lejamani, Honduras with one of GIIP’s sustaining partners, the Riecken Foundation. The Reicken Foundation is an NGO working in Honduras and Guatemala to “promote the discovery of ideas and resources in rural Central American Communities by supporting the construction and operation of public libraries”.
